🎮 About the Game

What kind of game is Hanabi Bloom?

Hanabi Bloom is a bubble-shooter puzzle game set in a Japanese-style world. You connect and pop bubbles of the same color to launch beautiful fireworks across the screen. Enjoy a variety of ways to play, including a story mode and versus modes.

Can I play for free?

Yes, the basic gameplay is completely free. The App includes optional in-app purchases, but you can enjoy all stories and all game modes without paying.

* Some limited-edition fireworks, customization items, and time-limited items may be obtained through in-app purchases or events.

What devices are supported?

You can play on the following devices.

  • Android: Android 8.0 or later
  • iOS: iOS 14.0 or later

* Recommended requirements may change without notice.

Can I play offline?

Some modes, such as story mode, can be played offline. Some features—such as friend battles, rankings, and earning items by watching ads—require an internet connection.

How long does it take to play?

Each stage can be cleared in about 1 to 3 minutes. You can enjoy it casually during spare moments like commuting. If you want to play longer, you can also enjoy extended sessions in story mode or versus mode.

Do I need to register an account?

In principle, you can play without registering an account. However, for some features such as friend battles and rankings, you will need to set a profile display name.

What game modes are there?

Currently, we offer the following modes.

  • Story Mode: A solo journey clearing stages as the story progresses
  • NPC Battle: Test your skills against distinctive rivals
  • Friend Battle: An online battle to compete with friends over fireworks

How do friend battles work?

By exchanging friend codes, you can battle specific friends. For detailed instructions, please follow the guidance on the battle screen.

🕹️ How to Play / Controls

How do I play?

Launch balls (bubbles) from the bottom of the screen, and connect 3 or more balls of the same color to pop them. When you pop balls, fireworks of that color are launched. Pop the balls on the board efficiently to aim for a high score or to clear the stage.

Simple controls—just aim and shoot. You can play casually in your spare time.

What kinds of balls are there?

The following balls mainly appear.

  • Color balls red yellow blue greenColor balls: The basic balls. Connect 3 or more of the same color to pop them and launch fireworks of that color. Bigger chains make bigger fireworks.
  • Bomb ball: When popped, it destroys the surrounding balls all at once.
  • Directional bomb: Pops balls in a straight line in the direction of its arrow.
  • Rotation ball: Part of the board keeps rotating, so time your shots.
  • Chameleon ball: Its color keeps changing. Pop it the moment it turns the color you need.
  • Hard ball: Does not break in one hit. It takes several hits, breaking in stages.
  • Fragile ball: Breaks very easily, even from nearby explosions or chains.
  • Holder (web): Traps a ball inside. Hit it to release the ball.
  • Random destructor: When popped, it destroys several random balls on the board.
  • Unbreakable ball: Cannot be destroyed directly. Clear its support so it drops to remove it from the board.
  • Spike ball: A hazard that destroys any ball that touches it. Avoid hitting it.
  • Gravity ball (collapsar): Pulls the surrounding balls into a vortex and pops them.
  • Cover: A cover placed over a ball. Hit it to peel it off, then pop the ball underneath. Hard covers need several hits.
  • Collectibles (stars, carrots, trapped friends): Stage objectives. Clear their supports to drop them to the bottom, or collect the required number, to get closer to clearing the stage.
  • +Time ball: In timed modes, popping it increases your remaining time (+5s each; capped at +15s total per stage in versus).
  • Bonus item: Popping it grants a bonus (score, coins, etc.).
What is a chain?

When balls continue to pop in the flow after you pop balls, it is called a “chain.” The bigger the chain, the more gorgeous the fireworks, and large chains launch special fireworks. Try to aim for satisfying chains.

Can I change fireworks by color?

Yes. From the “Gallery” in the App, you can equip your favorite fireworks to each of the red, yellow, blue, and green balls. Launch different fireworks depending on the color you pop, and enjoy your own unique presentation. Fireworks you have unlocked or obtained become available to equip.

What are the rules for timed battles?

This is a mode where you earn as many points as possible within the time limit and aim for a higher score than your opponent. When the board runs low on balls, new balls are automatically replenished, so you can keep popping for the full time. It’s a fair match where both players compete with the same time limit.

What are lives (number of plays)?

These are the number of plays used to play stages. Even when they run out, they naturally recover over time. If you subscribe to the monthly membership, you can play without consuming lives.

Are there helper items (boosts)?

Yes. We provide boosts (helper items) that you tap during play to activate (each use consumes one; if you run out, you can buy more with coins).

  • Extra Time: Adds +30s to the timer. Unlimited in Story mode; once per stage in versus (effectively +15s due to the +15s versus cap). Shown in timed stages.
  • Extra Moves: +5 moves. Shown in move-limited stages.
  • Multicolor Bubble: Fire a rainbow ball that connects with any color.
  • Super Aim: Extends the aim guide so you can line up shots more easily.

🎆 Fireworks & Collection

What kinds of fireworks are there?

We feature traditional Japanese fireworks such as chrysanthemum (kiku), peony (botan), willow (yanagi), and senrin. Types such as palm (yashi), crown chrysanthemum (kammuro), and double-core (niju-shin) are planned to be added gradually in future updates. As you progress, new fireworks are unlocked.

Will new fireworks be added?

Yes, we plan to add new fireworks through regular updates. Seasonal fireworks, limited-edition fireworks, special fireworks, and more—new discoveries await every time you play.

How do I check my fireworks collection?

From the “Gallery” screen in the App, you can view a list of the fireworks you have unlocked so far.

💰 In-App Purchases

What can I buy with in-app purchases?

You can mainly purchase the following items.

  • In-game currency (coins, etc.)
  • Monthly membership (ad-free, no life consumption)
  • Limited-edition fireworks and customization items
  • Time-limited items

What is the monthly membership?

It is a monthly subscription that lets you play more comfortably. When you subscribe, you can use the following benefits.

  • Ad-free
  • Play without consuming lives

The monthly membership is auto-renewing. Unless cancelled, it is automatically renewed and charged each month through Google Play or the Apple App Store. The price and benefits are shown on the purchase screen.

You can cancel at any time from the “Subscriptions” management screen of Google Play or the App Store. Even after cancellation, you can use the member benefits until the end of that billing period. Refunds for periods already elapsed are, in principle, not provided.

Is there gacha? Are the probabilities disclosed?

If a gacha element is included, the offering rates (probabilities) are clearly stated on each gacha’s sales screen. The displayed offering rates are managed to match the probabilities as implemented.

Also, we do not offer “complete gacha” (a mechanism in which collecting a specific combination of items allows you to obtain another item).

Can I get a refund for purchases?

In principle, returns and cancellations after purchase are not accepted. However, for issues such as payment processing errors or items not being reflected, we will respond in accordance with the refund policy of Google Play or the Apple App Store.

I’m worried about my child making purchases

When a minor makes in-app purchases, please ensure it is done with the consent of a parent or guardian. You can also set purchase restrictions by using the parental control features of Google Play / Apple App Store.

📺 Advertising

Are ads displayed?

Yes. To provide free play, the App serves ads through Google AdMob. There are banner ads, interstitial ads between games, and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch.

What are rewarded ads?

These are ads that let users earn in-game items or benefits by voluntarily watching them. Viewing is entirely optional and is never forced.

Can I hide ads?

Yes. If you subscribe to the monthly membership, ads are hidden. You also get the benefit of playing without consuming lives. For details, see “What is the monthly membership?” under “💰 In-App Purchases.”

I want to stop personalized ads

You can change your settings using the following methods.

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → “Opt out of Ads Personalization”
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

🔒 Privacy & Data

What personal information is collected?

In connection with advertising (Google AdMob), we collect device information, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and so on. Gameplay data such as game progress and scores is stored on your device. If you use online features such as ranking, friends, and versus, an anonymous authentication ID, player display name, scores, battle records, etc. are processed through Unity Gaming Services (we do not collect names, email addresses, etc.). We do not collect or implement contacts (address book), location (GPS), camera/microphone, health data, or our own access analytics/crash analytics. For details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Can I back up my data?

Game progress data is stored on your device. A cloud backup feature is planned to be supported in a future update.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, you can delete your data using the following methods.

  • Method A (Delete from within the App: on-device + online): From “Settings” → “Delete Account / Data” in the App, you can delete on-device game data (coins, progress, settings, etc.) as well as online data linked to your authentication ID (anonymous or Google / Apple linked), such as ranking records, friends, and battle records.
  • Method B (Delete via device operation: on-device only): Uninstalling the App or clearing the app’s data from your device settings deletes the on-device data. However, this operation alone does not delete online data. If you also wish to delete online data, please use Method A or Method C.
  • Method C (Request deletion by email): If you wish to delete a Google / Apple linked account, or any name, email address, or content we have received, please send an email to privacy@hanabibloom.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request.” We will verify your identity and delete the data within 30 days of receipt.

Is it safe for children to play?

The App is not primarily intended for children under 13. Our policy is not to intentionally collect personal information from children under 13. If your child uses the App, please ensure it is done with the consent of a parent or guardian.

When will it be released?

It is now available on Google Play. The App Store version is planned for a future release. Announcements will be made on this website and our official social media.

A pre-registration feature for release notifications is in preparation. We will provide information on this page as soon as it is available. In the meantime, please check this website periodically.

What regions are supported?

We initially plan to distribute in Japan, and are gradually considering overseas expansion as well.

May I stream or post gameplay videos?

Yes, absolutely! You may freely post and stream gameplay videos, live streams, commentary, screenshots, clips, edited videos, and the like, without prior permission, whether by individuals or corporations and whether for profit or non-profit. Monetization through ad revenue, tips, Super Chats, and the like is also fine. Editing and adding comments is of course welcome, and introductions through cosplay are very welcome too. Credit and hashtags (such as #HanabiBloom) are optional.

However, please refrain from the following uses.

  • Use combined with violent, sexual, discriminatory, or otherwise socially inappropriate expression
  • Use that violates laws or promotes illegal acts
  • Use that misleads others into thinking it is official or authorized by us (impersonation, etc.)
